Strong Motion looks like one of those juvenile stories that every novelist keeps hidden in the bottom of a drawer.
I just remember a ridicolous plot cooked with earthquakes, Sonic Youth, cliches about California and a flavour of bestsellerish sex between the two protagonists.
Well, the positive thing is that comparing "Strong Motion" to the good and famous "Corrections" you can really appreciate the growth of Jonathan Franzen as a novelist.
