Icy. I can't find a better adjective to describe The Notebook, the first part of this trilogy. There are no feelings. There are merely words. Everything is objective. Even blood looks like black ink on a white paper. Death is just an analytic phenomenon.
And then the second and the third part of the trilogy are a complicated mechanism in which what you read is not what you get and while you get it, it gets you.
