The Library of Babel

A good collection of Magris' impressions on different places in the world. From Sweden to Tasmania passing through Iran, Poland and China.

As usually he is masterful in combining his point of view with reminescences of local history, art and literature.

Curiously enough, I noticed how Magris quotes a bit too often La Capria, an author I never read who wrote on Mediterranean Sea.

But the greatest surprise I found among these pages are the four dedicated to the Skogskyrkogården cemetery in Stockholm.
I went there a few months ago and I couldn't resist to write about it as well as Magris did ten years before. Then I discovered this book. It has been like having a literary deja-vu and I can grant how it's such a wonderful feeling.
